Agreement to terms
These Terms of Service govern access to and use of Essentially Events, including our website, dashboard, guest experiences, and related services.
By creating an account, sending invitations, or using guest features through a magic link, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create a planner or host account. Guests may use invitation links without registering, subject to the host’s event settings.
Accounts and security
You are responsible for safeguarding account credentials and for all activity under your account.
Agencies must ensure client hosts and team members are granted appropriate permissions through the platform’s guardrail controls.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload unlawful, harassing, or infringing content, including guest photos or messages.
- Attempt to access events, guest data, or admin functions without authorisation.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the service.
- Use the platform to send spam or unsolicited marketing unrelated to a legitimate event.
- Circumvent photo moderation, kill-switch, or permission controls.
Guest communications
Hosts and planners may send transactional invitations, reminders, and event updates via email, SMS, or WhatsApp through the platform.
Guests may opt out of SMS or WhatsApp messages by following the instructions in each message. Message and data rates may apply.
Your content and photos
You retain ownership of content you upload. You grant Essentially Events a limited licence to host, display, and transmit that content solely to provide the service to your authorised guests and collaborators.
You confirm you have the rights and consents needed to upload guest lists, photos, and event materials.
Agencies and white-label use
Agencies may white-label the guest experience with their branding subject to their subscription or credit terms.
Agencies remain responsible for client relationships, lawful processing of guest data, and accurate pricing of event credits passed to clients.
Payments and credits
Event credits and billing terms are described at purchase and in your dashboard. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated in your agreement.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these Terms, unlawful use, or risk to other users.
Upon termination, export and deletion of event data will follow your retention settings and our Data Processing Agreement where applicable.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided on an “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to fees paid in the twelve months preceding the claim, except where liability cannot be limited under UK law.
